Thanks! When I hear of people unable to use entire rooms or park in their garage, or even spending thousands on storage, it’s hard not to make a value judgment as to whether owning lots of stuff is good or bad.
As far as “filling the void,” I agree materialism is a dead-end. But isn’t the old American Dream more about being a meaningful member of society? The householder does not necessarily look to spiritual fulfillment. To focus on experience and have no material responsibility to limit you is a new take on what it means to be a responsible, productive and respectable adult.
